Made in collaboration with DHL's Refugee Aid Initiative, My Friend, Alim chronicles the friendship between a young refugee and the DHL employee who took him into her home.

With over 50% of asylum seekers on integration courses including, apprenticeships, language classes, and temporary employment contracts, I️ believe that the world can look to Germany as a successful example of refugee inclusion and integration. Alim is proof of this. A refugee from Afghanistan, he is a devoted role model to his cousins and a future nurse. He and his family made the long and hard trek from Afghanistan to Germany almost two years ago and I’m truly in awe of their courage and resilience. This film explores the friendships they have made and connections they have established in their new community. I’m blessed and honored that they have entrusted me to tell their story, and I️ cannot thank them enough for opening their homes and hearts to me, and enabling me to share the vast contributions of refugees to the nations that accept them.
